What is Wakelet?

Wakelet is a free app that allows you to create beautiful lectures that embed directly to a Canvas page, create collections of information, use as a collaborative tool where students can add to any piece, or use for a digital portfolio!

The app is VERY easy to use, and seamlessly integrates with existing content you may have in Google or Microsoft apps, and also allows you to record Flipgrid videos directly into a Wakelet piece. It also includes Microsoft's immersive reader Links to an external site., which allows for a customized experience for each student - and will read articles out loud without needing to go to the original website.

Summary: If you are looking for a tool for students to use to create digital portfolios or work together on a project – Wakelet is a clear winner. If you would like to dress up text and video based lectures, and embed to a Canvas page easily – Wakelet is also a winner. However, if you would like to create lectures with lots of interactions, questions, or the ability to add as an assignment to Canvas, then Articulate is the winner in terms of allowing more options and seamless integration. Student Use	Students can sign up for free and create digital portfolios, creative assignments, collaborate in groups, and more – good tool for student use!	Not for student use unless they wanted to purchase a license.
Collaboration with Others	Can invite as many contributors as you want, so an instructor can ask students or other faculty to collaborate on a Wakelet piece.	Can share and collaborate with others who have Articulate licenses or are on your Articulate team.
Interactive Elements	Interactions, such as flip cards or drag and drop, would need to be created in another tool (Google Slides, PPT, etc.) and then added to Wakelet. Interactions are limited to what can be done using other tools.
