READ & LISTEN

Read:

A pronoun is a word that we use in the place of a noun.  When we write sentences, we usually use a noun in the first sentence we write, so we know what the pronoun is referring to.  Then, we use the pronoun in the next sentence.

Example:

Bob ate a sandwich.  He was hungry.

(noun)                                  (pronoun)

Listen:

I use I to talk about yourself
you

use you to talk to another person; you can be singular or plural

he / she use he or she to talk about one (1) male or female person
it use it to talk about one (1) thing

plural

(2+ people or things)

we use we to talk about yourself and one (1) or more other people
you  use you to talk to two (2) or more people; you can be singular or plural
they

use they to talk about two (2) or more people or things
