Where’s my online course?
You can access your online course by logging in to Canvas - bc.instructure.com or bellevuecollege.edu/canvas

What’s my Canvas username/password?
Your username is your Netid. Your password is the same one that you use to check your email.
I can log in to my email, but not Canvas. Why?
If you enrolled in your courses today, it can take up to 4 hours after you enroll before you will have access to Canvas
I can log in to Canvas, but I don’t see my course. Why?
Your course hasn’t started yet. You will get access on the first day of the quarter. See the Academic Calendar for start dates.
For face-to-face classes, not all instructors will use Canvas. If your course uses Canvas, your instructor will let you know in-class on the first meeting.
I have an online class and I will be using Canvas. I have access to Canvas, My class has started this week but I do not have access to my course site.
Your Canvas course is not published. Students please contact/email your Instructor and ask them to Publish the site so students can access content.
Does Bellevue College offer Canvas orientation for students?
Yes, Student Orientations are offered every Quarter. During the breaks between quarters, eLearning offers a 4-day Online Learning Workshop Links to an external site., and during the first week of each quarter, Information Technology Services also offers a Tech Cafe Links to an external site. which will offer help all technology questions.
Why is Canvas running slow?
There are many reasons why you may have issues with Canvas:
- Check your Internet Provider connection
- Connect your computer to a wired network.
- If you are at Starbucks or any outside location there may be a firewall that is not allowing access.
- Test connecting to Canvas from another machine
- Make sure you have an updated and the newest version of your browser. Also update Java and Flash if needed.
- We recommend using Firefox for minimal issues. Switch browsers if issues persist.
Why are some links not working inside my course?
You are probably using an unsupported browser. Try using an upgraded or different browser. We recommend Mozilla Firefox

Clear your Browser’s Cache
Sometimes your browser’s Cache needs to be cleared--especially if you changed your password recently, or if you bookmark the Canvas Login page
When do I contact my Instructor?
Your first point of contact is your instructor. It can be done via email or a phone call. Check the Syllabus for instructions on how do that. Your instructor can give you more time to finish a quiz or submit an assignment.
Where can I find a Canvas Student Guide?
Canvas updates are done periodically and are installed seamlessly. To get the newest content in the student guide use the Canvas Student Guide or the Canvas Video Guide for Students
